I'm guna get dat turdy point buck

Its the time of year
for the deer
to fear

For one weekend of the year I go and do my part to fill the freezer. "There is a place for all of Gods good creatures. Right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy."

2 more weeks

2 more weeks until I can strap the skates back on (weather permitting). Most of my training has been geared toward the ice lately. Floyd has been showing me the ropes and getting me into the routine. I need to get some new boots this weekend or next week and send in my $ for GMSA for ice time. I can race every weekend if I want to this winter. Pack meets on sat, and metric time trials on Sunday. Looking forward to it.

Check out the size of those team competition trophies

Yesterday was the perfect fall day which have been comming on saturdays only lately with the rest of the week being rain. I went to Murphy Hanrehan and did 2 laps before the QBP party. It was the first time being on the dirt since St Cloud which which was a month ago. I spent all day thursday and friday working on the engineering project. I'll post a demo when its all done.
Nice awards this year H'wood cycles took 3rd in the team comp. Sam got 2nd overall in the series and I got 7th overall, but with the top 5 being deleted from the age group awards that put me 2nd for my age.Everyone got a trophy and a picture from John Peterson photography.

Cute Alert. No this is not theirs. Mr T is training Chris and Jen for future purposes. Chris just proposed last week and he timed it right because a couple days later he brought home a new bike. Good thinking Chris.

The greatest guitarist

The only concert I've been to was a Joe concert and my ears were bleeding for days. He makes the impossible, possible on the guitar. Watch in wonder. If you hear of him comming to town let me know because he hasn't come back in years. Perfect ipod riding music.

I've been laying low for a while lately. Of course school is taking up all the time. I have that design project due in 2 weeks and I'll be building it this week and weekend. Next week we write up the report and do some Pro E drawings. I can't believe we are mid term already. Time goes by quick when I stay busy. Next semester I'm only taking 3 classes instead of 4. I'm right on the edge of being overwhelmed. I also had a sore throat starting friday so I never raced cross on sunday. Oh, not to mention I mowed lawns all day last tuesaday and friday after chemistry.
Saturday I took the boat over to a nearby lake and tried for a musky. Had a follow-up but that is all. Perfect day to be out on the lake though. When I got home,...you guessed it, more leaves. Saturday was the PERFECT fall day. 60's, sunny and no wind. Now we are paying for it with a week of rain. Can you imagine how much snow we would have if all this precip came in Dec and January. I hope we are not cashing in all our precip from the drought this summer. Speaking of drought this summer, we never had a mud race, but on the other hand look at the Wisconsin races.
Up comming events: MNSCS awards at QBP on sat evening, Silver Cycling banquet party the weekend after, then its deer opener the following weekend. No fall hunting or motorcycle trial riding this year. Speed skating starts up a week after deer season I think too. Then its holiday season and the infamous turkey day ride:)

I was going to do the Red Wing mtb race but I didn't feel like getting up ealy enough for a 9:00 start. Sam went and there was like 5 other people there anyway. No competition. Since Doug was complaining about no mtbers showing up at the cross races I opted for the royal spanking from the roadies. The race was held in Rockford, sraight west from Plymouth. Wenk,Jay,Justin, and myself were representing the mtbers. Wenk had a cross bike though, while Jay justin and I had straight bars. I had yet another bad start. I got caught up in the mass going into the first sharp corner and everyone funneling down. That was finr though because I rode like a small child for the first half of the race. I was seriously thinking of quiting untill I saw Dan Swanson on the side of the trail making sure his helmet still had a serial number in it. I thought, "you know, roadies can quit when they think they can't handle it , but mountain bikers suck it up and finish the race if they and their bikes are able." Especially when its only an hr long race and no ski hills. Thanks For the motivation Dan I owe you one. Oh crap, Dan was the one to lend me the $20 so I could race today. Dan is the nicest person I've ever met. During the race you suffer but when its all over you look back and remember how much fun it was. Like when me and Todd (A teammate and H'Woods shop hand) were duking it out in the middle of the race. He went down on a corner and was laying on the ground in front of me, I didn't want to run him over so I slamed on the disc brakes and went over the bars landing on top of him. On the next barrier section I went to dismount as he was going to pass me and I gave him a classic Chuck Norris roundhouse kick sending him into the weeds. My goal was to not get lapped but that didn't happen. With 2 to go Dewey Dickey and Aric Harland passed me. I was cross eyed by the end of the race and had to suck down all the water I could find, it was uncross like weather for sure, upper 70's and upper 60's dew points made it feel like summer. I had a good time though. Oh, did I mention I beat Dougs brother.

Here is a guy from the Red wing downhill race who was having a rally bad day

New season?Go figure....skating

I got my introduction to speedskating training at Floyd Bedbury's house who is one of the coaches for the Twin Cities Speedskating club that I'm going to join this winter. Floyd is a character, he still acts like he's in his 20's. Anyways I've been suffering since wed. I'm not used to using those muscles yet and I over did it. I could hardly walk yesterday and today, it feels like after roofing for a day. Riding doesn't hurt to bad since its the inside of the quads whereas skating is the outside of the quad from squating and pushing sideways. Should be fun learning from all the world class talent in the club.
I loaded up a bunch more pictures from France that I got from Bob who was our photographer on the trip. He took alot of fancy pics with some nice cameras.
Jay Richards comming into the cities tomorrow hopefully going to go on a ride with him and Brendan. Hoping the trails will dry up.
